RM80 saves costs redeveloping CAT factory

EAST PEORIA, ILLINOIS. IronHustler Excavating (IHX) based in Peoria provides the full spectrum of construction and demolition services. A remarkable rate of 90% is repeat business confirms that the customers trust in the performance of IHX’s site solutions and systems customized to their specific needs - as managing director Dave Schielein puts it: “We believe in providing the best services available to get the job done on time, on budget, and without complications.”

Since 2004 Ironhustler Excavating has been known as a specialist for “on-site” recycling and as authorized dealer for the most efficient RUBBLE MASTER Compact Recyclers. At IronHustler Excavating every field supervisor has over 30 years of project experience. IHX is proud to offer hands-on ownership involvement in each job they perform. The low overhead transfers savings to the customer and the range of first-class equipment is decided according to the specific project though completion. The strong relationship with sub-contractors means no hassles and quick response. With on-site recycling and RUBBLE MASTER Compact Recyclers IHX has even increased their success.

In March 2006 IronHustler Excavating won the contract for an interesting project for Caterpillar and the City of East Peoria: The re-development of the original Caterpillar tractor factory in downtown East Peoria. The concrete floor slabs from the old CAT facilities had to be recycled. The widespread material was to crush to a 3” minus gradation for the next phase of re-development. So a RUBBLE MASTER RM80 was the solution, meeting the demands for a crusher being both, mobile and able to travel from pile to pile across the 30 acres site, and capable of producing a gradable material in one pass. Cost savings thanks to mobility, high performance and single-operator mode The RM80 is a flexible high performance machine, showing highest availability and throughput continuity thanks to technically proven production line standards and user-friendliness offering ground-based service. The powerful but compact impact crusher is mobile by means of a crawler gear.

A striking advantage is the single-operator mode thanks to automatic control and the low fuel consumption, together with a lot of performance-enhancing features, such as optimized feeding cycle, integrated pre-screening in the vibrating feeder, hydraulic crusher gap adjustment, a release-system by remote-control to clear blockages or the efficient magnetic separator and many more. Besides that, the RM80 can be transported to any job site using a standard low-loader trailer. At the Caterpillar site in East Peoria the RM80 processed approx. 6,600 tons of concrete slabs in about 10 days to the full satisfaction of all participants - for future use on-site as a roadbed material.

On-site recycling – the solution in the face of ever increasing fuel costs

The concept of “on-site” recycling is new to the Americans. However in times of excessively high fuel costs contractors are looking for alternative solutions. And find them in on-site operations, saving time spent in traffic jams, fuel and toll charges. Reusing the material on site cancels out duping fees. RUBBLE MASTER crushers for mobile recycling are able to fulfil the necessary tasks on all job sites and in any surrounding cost-effectively. The RUBBLE MASTER Compact Recyclers score big points when it comes to mobility, as transportation is fast and simple with a low-loader available. The RM80 eg. is up and running faster than the time it takes to issue a permit. The benefits of a RUBBLE MASTER crusher with its crawler gear can be seen in particular on urban sites where space is limited.

Besides, the powerful but smart crushers are a welcome sight for local authorities and residents, meeting the demands and regulations concerning permissible emission values. These are the people who much prefer an effective crusher for a few days at a job site, needing only two trips in total instead of eg. 50 lorry loads of material to be collected. Their mobility and flexibility regarding the variety of materials processed make it possible to carry out several smaller job orders one after the other at different locations. The quality of the end product is also a decisive factor: the higher the quality, the higher the profits! This is particularly true when the value grain is used in a different process. IronHustler Excavating in Peoria sees the demand for “on-site” recycling is continuously growing. Just to name a few applications for the RUBBLE MASTER RM80 in the near future: recycling asphalt for Tazewell County Asphalt and processing reinforced concrete pipes for County Materials in Springfield.
